Friedrich Zickwolff
Friedrich Zickwolff (1 August 1893 – 17 September 1944) was a highly decorated ''Generalleutnant'' in the ''Wehrmacht'' during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Friedrich Zickwolff contracted a disease while serving on the Eastern Front and died on 17 September 1944. He was buried in the military cemetery in Ludwigsburg on 21 September 1944.〔''Letzer Abschied von General Zickwolff'' (Goodbye to General Zickwolff ).
